Bill Adams is Professor of Public Policy and Public Administration at The Trachtenberg School at The George Washington University. His research interests span several fields, including public administration, public policy, political science, applied statistics, and mass communications. In particular, his research has often focused on public opinion and the mass media.

Professor Adams earned his Ph.D. in political science from George Washington University, and his B.A. and M.A. from Baylor University. Books that he has authored and edited are

For many years, Prof. Adams was a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Communication and a member of the Board of Visitors of the Vanderbilt University Television News Archive. He has conducted research for organizations such as the Pew Charitable Trusts, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. State Department, the space shuttle (United Space Alliance), Goodwill Industries, Reuters, the Council on Foreign Relations, Southwestern Bell, and others.

He has lectured at many universities abroad and traveled extensively, visiting all 193 countries in the United Nations.. In 2010, he was awarded a Fulbright to teach at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. In 2015, he received the Trachtenberg School's new Outstanding Teaching Award.
